The Friends of Nidderdale AONB welcomes the Police’s Operation Owl
North Yorkshire and Nidderdale in particular has a well documented problem relating to the killing of raptors. Wildlife crime is of concern to most people and so the Friends of Nidderdale AONB is pleased that North Yorkshire Police working with Nidderdale AONB, the National Parks and wildlife charities has decided to take action.
Friends spokesperson, Heather Garnett said, “The killing of raptors is deplorable. Friends is an organisation that supports numerous projects that help to increase biodiversity in our special area and to hear of crimes of this kind is hard to take. We urge visitors and residents alike to be vigilant and to look out for incidents which should be reported to the Police”
