Nidderdale AONB is a home and workplace for about 16,000 people as well as being a nationally protected landscape and, we think you’ll agree, is a very special place to live.
The AONB team is committed to working with local people and organisations to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of this special area of Yorkshire. AONB staff can provide information and advice on accessing grants for landowners and farmers, homeowners and tourism businesses.
If you’re a property or land owner you can help to look after Nidderdale AONB through the way you manage your property. Our planning pages will point you to planning advice as well as information about conservation areas and listed buildings in the AONB.
The AONB does not have responsibility for looking after rights of way. If you have a query or question about rights of way contact North Yorkshire County Council rights of way team at firstname.lastname@example.org who are responsible for the management of all rights of way in the area.
Have you ever thought of helping practically to look after the special landscape of Nidderdale AONB? Why not have a look at our volunteering opportunities? Or consider joining the Friends of Nidderdale AONB?
To find out more detail about the work of the AONB have a look at the AONB Management Plan that sets out all of our priorities.
