Welcome to Nidderdale

The Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) covers 233 square miles (603 km²) of Northern England in the county of North Yorkshire. The AONB shares a common boundary with the Yorkshire Dales National Park immediately to the west.

The special quality of the landscape was formally recognised by the Government on 14 February 1994, when it was designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Nidderdale AONB Management Plan 2009-2014 Nidderdale AONB has published its second statutory Management Plan. The Plan and its supporting documents can be downloaded by clicking on the image below.	Heritage Strategy 2009-2014 The Nidderdale AONB Heritage Strategy identifies the objectives, policies and actions required for the sustainable management of the Nidderdale AONB's heritage until 2014.
