Meet the Nidderdale AONB team

The small AONB staff team are based in Pateley Bridge. The team is made up of 13 people (equal to nine full-time staff) - eight who work across the whole AONB and five who work on the Heritage Lottery funded 'Upper Nidderdale Landscape Partnership'.

Paul Burgess: AONB Manager (Monday to Wednesday)

  • has overall responsibility for the team in Pateley Bridge
  • has responsibility for implementing the AONB management plan and annual work programme

Kelly Harmar: Project Officer - Biodiversity (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)

Leanne Fox: AONB Information Officer (Monday & Tuesday)

  • produces newsletters and publications for the AONB and the Friends of Nidderdale AONB
  • manages and updates the AONB website
  • the main contact for any AONB communications such as interpretation, social media, press and events

Alice Crosby: Project Officer - The Wild Watch (Tuesday to Thursday)

  • responsible for the delivery of a three year wildlife project called 'The Wild Watch' which aims to carry out Nidderdale's biggest ever wildlife survey and help people learn about and enjoy Nidderdale’s natural heritage.

Marian Wilby: Land Management Team Leader (full time)

  • provides practical assistance and support for farmers and landowners with conservation projects, accessing grants and environmental stewardship schemes

Mary Jones: AONB Administrator (Monday, Thursday and Friday)

  • deals with all general enquiries about the AONB
  • deals with AONB accounts in conjunction with Harrogate Borough Council
  • manages bookings for the AONB events programme
  • provides admin support for the Upper Nidderdale Landscape Partnership
