The Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) covers 233 square miles (603 km2) of Northern England in the county of North Yorkshire. The AONB shares a common boundary with the Yorkshire Dales National Park immediately to the west. 2010 International Year of Biodiversity Our Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty contain this country's finest landscapes and countryside and are home to some of our most exquisite and unusual wildlife species. We are about nature and people and how they interact. The family of AONBs supports the aims of the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity. |
The Nidderdale AONB Heritage Strategy is now available. The Heritage Strategy identifies the objectives, policies and actions required for the sustainable management of the Nidderdale AONB's heritage until 2014. |
