Other Opportunities
We are always looking for help in our work to conserve and
enhance the Nidderdale AONB. If you would like to be involved
but don't want to do any 'physical' work, don't worry, there are
other opportunities.
Opportunities for
students
We welcome secondary school students who are looking for a
short work experience placement. We try to be as flexible as
possible but most placements involve a mixture of outdoor and
office based work.
We have also hosted very successful undergraduate student
placements both year-long 'sandwich' and shorter term
placements. These have provided extremely valuable learning
opportunities and work experience. Students have worked on a
wide variety of projects and gained insights into many aspects of
protected landscapes.
There are opportunities for detailed scientific studies of
botany, invertebrate zoology, and hydrology; projects on landscape
history, moorland management, social history, tourism, public
participation; or work experience related to countryside
management, rights of way, volunteer development, and management
plans.
We regret that we are unable to remunerate students, but can offer
expenses, a friendly working environment and a beautiful
location!
