Nidderdale Landscapes Photography Exhibition

Different Perspectives on Nidderdales Hidden Landscapes to be Highlighted in Photography, Art & Sculpture

The Friends of Nidderdale AONB are sponsoring an exhibition of photographs by the celebrated travel photographer Paul Harris at King Street Workshops in Pateley Bridge from 4 to 13 September 2009.

Inspired by the colour, shape and form of landscape features, Paul's work creates an intimate study of Nidderdale and reflects the beauty of the large in the fine detail of the minutiae.

A parallel exhibition of sculptures by local artist Sue Harrison in an adjoining gallery complements this celebration of natural forms.

Both exhibitions are part of collaboration with the Landscape and Arts Network (LAN); the group will be based in Pateley Bridge over the weekend of 4 6 September. LAN will explore the 'hidden places' of Nidderdale with a programme of walks and talks and plan to share responses to the mines, quarries, caverns and special places that intrigue the visitor in creative form during the weekend.

The LAN brings together artists, ecologists, educationalists, architects, engineers and all those who feel passionate about the natural environment. Their work aims to encourage a cross-fertilisation of ideas and responses to broaden the context in which we understand art and landscape.

Full details of the weekend and the exhibitions can be found on the web site: http://landartnet.org/ or by contacting Bobbie Millar on 07740 941950.
