The AONB Team

A small team of people work for Nidderdale AONB and are based in Pateley Bridge.  Find out more about what we do:
 
Paul Burgess AONB Manager (Full time Monday - Friday)
Paul manages the team in Pateley Bridge and has overall responsibility for implementing the AONB Management Plan and annual work programme.
 
Sarah Kettlewell Assistant AONB Officer (currently on maternity leave until December 2010)
Sarah manages the AONB grant schemes including the Sustainable Development Fund, helps groups with the development of projects and submits funding applications.
 
Alex Sijpesteijn Graduate Trainee (Full time Monday - Friday)
Alex is providing maternity cover for Sarah Kettlewell. Her main responsibilities are to manage the AONB Sustainable Development Fund and help with the development of AONB projects.
 
Val Harker Nidderdale Plus Administrator and Mary Jones AONB Administrator (currently on maternity leave until October 2010)
Val and Mary are the first point of call for all general enquiries about the AONB. If they can't help you they will know who can.
 
Barry Slaymaker  AONB Ranger (part time Monday to Thursday)
Barry is responsible for the Tree Warden Scheme, Drystone Walling Group and is the AONB contact for the 'Friends of the AONB'.  He also provides advice on woodland ecology issues.
 
Colin Slator AONB Ranger (part time Monday & Tuesday)
Colin organises and oversees the work of the Nidderdale AONB Conservation Volunteers, advises landowners on land management issues and provides groups with information on a broad range of conservation issues. 
 
Leanne Fox  Information Officer (part time Monday to Thursday)
Responsible for publicising the work of the AONB through the production of newsletters and publications, the AONB events programme and the AONB website.
 
Sally Childes Heritage Officer (part time Monday & Tuesday)
Sally coordinates the work of the AONB Team on heritage and the historic environment. She works with other organisations and key partners in delivering the heritage related aspects of the AONB Management Plan.
 
Marian Wilby Farm Conservation Advisor (Full time Monday - Friday)
Marian works for North Yorkshire Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group and is based in the AONB Office 5 days per week. Her role is to offer practical assistance and support for farmers and landowners seeking help with conservation projects.
 
Iain Burgess Rights of Way Officer
Iain works alongside the rights of way team at North Yorkshire County Council to help improve and maintain the rights of way network in the AONB. Iain spends most of his time out on site or working from the North Yorkshire County Council offices in Northallerton.
