Higher Level Scheme
Ripon MOP (Multi-Objective Project).
Woodland Grants
Catchment Sensitive Farming

The Higher Level Scheme (HLS) subsidy is likely to become available later this year on non-SSSI land in the Nidderdale AONB and Ripon MOP area.

If you are considering a Higher Level Scheme on your farm, it is important to consult your Natural England Land Management Project Officers, or Marian Wilby at the AONB office, so that an assessment can be made as to the suitability of your farm for HLS.  If the farm is thought suitable, you will be given the go ahead to complete a Farm Environmental Plan and put forward an application.  Applications without up-to-date consultation may have the payment for the Farm Environmental Plan preparation refused - so it is essential that you have very recent contact to confirm this!

There is a lot that can be done in preparation for a Higher Level Scheme application, including the collection of bird survey data. This survey data can be essential to a successful HLS application. The AONB is organising wader surveys throughout the AONB. If you would like your farm surveying, please contact the office.
