Age Concern is starting a new social group in Darley which
will look at the history of the local area. To launch the project a
coffee morning is to be held on 21st Feb.
Age Concern North Yorkshire in Ripon is delighted to have the
opportunity to form a new Local History Group, charting the changes
in the village and surrounding area over the years.
We would love to meet up with local people to chat about how
life used to be - the good
times and the bad times - and would welcome photos, tape
recordings, art work or any other memorabilia that people have. We
hope the Group would provide a chance for people to share
reminiscences what they miss the most and how they were affected.
We would like to include Blubberhouses, Fewston and Summerbridge
areas.
Ultimately, we hope to produce a Collage based on our
findings, which would hang in Christ Church Community Centre.
We are holding a Coffee Morning in the Centre on Thursday 21
Feb between 10.30am and 12 noon to share ideas and to plan a way
forward. Everyone is warmly invited to attend.
If you would like to join us, or would like further
information, please contact Catharine Green, Locality Manager, on
