Friday 5th, 4pm - 9pm
Enjoy an evening of adventure with Paul Wilby, Head Gamekeeper at Bolton Abbey Estate, as you travel by landrover across beautiful moorland and up onto Simons Seat to enjoy spectacular views across the surrounding countryside. You will also find out more about this valuable landscape, its management and some of the flora and fauna it supports. The evening will close with a moorland supper to which all participants will be asked to contribute. Event includes some travel in landrovers over bumpy moorland tracks and a 1.5 mile (2.5km) walk to the summit of Simons Seat.

Saturday 6th
Through a packed programme of self-guided and guided activities, undertaken over 24 hours, participants will get hands on searching for local wildlife and will contribute to a genuine scientific survey.  A team of scientists, students and naturalists will be on hand to help visitors find, identify and record wildlife sightings all of which will add to the final species tally for the site.

Explore the areas superb lead mining heritage with Greenhow Local History Club.  View some old plans of the mines before walking down to the Sunside Mines and looking at the entrances of Gillfield, Cockhill and Jack Ass, and at the surface remains of the smelt mills. Have a look for minerals on the waste heaps before returning to the village via the Sam Oon stone.

Take a look at the geology of Coldstones Quarry from the inside on this fascinating guided walk.  The walk will be on rough ground and it may be muddy. Walking boots and wind proof clothing are recommended. Hard hats will be provided.

Gouthwaite Lodge Farm Heritage Walk
Monday 22nd, 5.30pm - 8.30pm
Join us for an evening walk through the history of Gouthwaite Lodge Farm, by kind permission of Mr John Rayner.  The walk takes in heritage features from prehistory right through to the building of the reservoirs in the late 19th century, and enjoys spectacular views over Nidderdale. Finish with supper overlooking Gouthwaite Reservoir. The walk involves stiles and some steep terrain off rights of way.

Join Charles Fletcher to discover more about these magnificent creatures, with fascinating names such as Blomer's Rivulet, Dark Arches, Ghost Moth and Elephant Hawk-Moth. At previous events up to 158 species have been recorded. Paths are steep in places and can be very muddy/slippery.
