Niddedale AONB Heritage Forum
Friday 1st October
9.30am - 5.00pm
Kettlesing Millennium Village Hall
This one day event aims to bring together reserach, exchange best practice and provide an opportunity to discuss issues and ideas for the future. The day will comprise a morning session with a variety of speakers and then an afternoon session with a choice of workshops.

Bird Migration Talk
Thursday 7th October
7.30pm - 9pm
Mike Brown, Regional Representative of the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) gives an insight into the fascinating world of Bird Migration and the work of the BTO. Refreshments will be included.
At: Nidderdale High School Community Education Centre
Cost: £3 per adult, under 16's free.
Aislabie Gardens Tour
Saturday 16th October
10am - 5pm
Join the Historic Parks & Gardens Study Group on this fascinating tour of Studley Royal & Hackfall. Discover the history of the Aislabie gardens and the connections between the two sites. Meet at Studley Royal for a guided tour of the water garden. Following a break for lunch you will visit Hackfall for a guided tour. You will then return to Studley Royal, stopping en route for refreshments.
Meet: Fountains Abbey. Exact location to be given at time of booking.
Cost: £10 per person payable on booking, plus £8.50 entry into Studley Royal Water Garden (n.b. if you are a member of the National Trust or English Heritage, entry into Studley Royal Water Garden is free). The price includes tours of the two 'Aislabie' estates, return transport between the two sites, late afternoon refreshments, and some information handouts.
You will need: 
* walking boots or similar sturdy footwear
* waterproofs
* warm, layered clothing
* a packed lunch or money for lunch in the tearoom

Advanced Geocaching
Sunday 24th October
10am - 2pm
A follow on from the Introduction to Geocaching. Locate a suitable spot to plant a new Nidderdale AONB cache, and guide yourself to other nearby caches. Some prior knowledge of geocaching is essential. Suitable for over 7's only.
Meet: Thruscross.  Exact location to be given at time of booking.
Cost: £3 per adult, under 16's free.
You will need: 
* walking boots or similar sturdy footwear
* waterproofs
* warm, layered clothing
* a packed lunch
* 2 or 3 small gifts for the caches
* a GPS (if you have one)
