Details of the pilot bus services that DITA has commissioned along the No.24 route have now been announced and provide additional Friday and Saturday evening buses between Harrogate and Pateley Bridge. The additional services will run from the 21st October to the 23rd December and a timetable (PDF 1063KB) is available here.

Some of you may have read in the local press about the success of DITA, a community-led transport group winning £1.1 million funding from Government to improve transport in the greater Dales area.  This has come as the result of a lot of hard work from volunteers, working with Metro and NYCC, to put in an original and sound bid for funds.  The fact that we are the only community-led group from across the whole country to have been successful is potentially a huge boost to our area.

Nidderdale has been identified as the first pilot area for DITA, revolving around the established No 24 bus route, and the pilot should be up and running during autumn.  If you have any ideas or suggestions about public transport in Nidderdale, please get in touch, via the contact function on our website:  www.dalesconnect.net, or contacting me at: helenflynn@me.com.  We need strong community support and help to make any transport we trial sustainable, so please use this opportunity to show support for local bus services!
