Making renewable energy pay

Press Release 27th September 2011

Would you like to find out more about renewable energy and its financial benefits? Come along to Kettlesing Millennium Hall on Friday 7th October at 7pm and find out how communities across the Yorkshire Dales are making money from renewable energy, whilst helping the environment.

Industry experts will be on hand to dispel the myths and help identify the financial opportunities that sustainable energy can provide. There will also be details of the work already in hand to support and develop sustainable energy schemes in the Nidderdale AONB and the wider Dales area, and we will look at how future policy might evolve and how this will impact the development of the sustainable energy industry.

Louise McManus, Chair of Friends of Nidderdale AONB, said: "This event promises to be a really great evening of lively discussion from leading experts in renewable energy. We're going to find out what kind of schemes are possible in the Dales, and importantly, which ones will help to cut fuel bills as energy prices keep rising.  There will be plenty of time for people to ask questions and the opportunity to explore your own ideas or scheme."

The event is free for Friends of Nidderdale AONB (or if you join on the door) and £3 for non-members. For more information please contact the Nidderdale AONB office on 01423 712950.
