The AONB's Farm Conservation Advisor can provide
FREE advice and support for farmers and landowners
and help them access grant schemes. The schemes provide income
support for landowners as well as improvements to farmland
conservation in the AONB.
The Farm Conservation Advisor can also:
- Provide practical help to farmers and other applicants in
making applications for Environmental Stewardship including the
production of Farm Environment Plans
- Initiate farmland wildlife conservation projects
- Advise farmers and landowners on management of Site of
Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) and coordinate production
of management plans
- Advise farmers and landowners on woodland issues, including
woodland management and woodland creation, and assist with grant
applications to implement woodland schemes.
- Provide a local point of contact for AONB farmers for advice on
a wide range of other issues and projects including; Catchment
Sensitive Farming & associated grants; Diffuse pollution
issues; Farm Waste Regulations; Replacement to Hill Farm Allowance
Scheme; Ripon Multi Objective Project.
