Getting Involved

There are many ways in which groups or individuals can get involved to help conserve and enhance the AONB.

Nidderdale AONB Conservation Volunteers: There are currently 120 volunteers who all play a vital role, working alongside permanent staff on countryside management tasks, promoting conservation within their own communities, wildlife surveys or working in the Pateley Bridge office.

Friends of Nidderdale AONB: Why not be involved in the work of the AONB by joining the 'Friends' organisation. Without giving up any of your time you can demonstrate your support to this nationally protected area.

Nidderdale AONB Young Rangers: The AONB Young Rangers Club is for 7 - 16 year olds who are interested in the countryside and conservation. The regular workshops are both fun and educational and involve practical outdoor tasks, trips around the AONB and indoor winter activities.

Other Opportunities: We can also offer student placements or work experience which can cover all aspects of working for a protected landscape.
