Dry Stone Walling Group
Tree Wardens

Dry stone walls are an important element of the AONB landscape and also provide a valuable habitat for some flora and fauna. However, the condition of many walls is threatened as they fall into a poor state of repair or are replaced by fences. Landowners are often keen to maintain the walls but it is a costly and time-consuming process.

The Nidderdale AONB Walling Group is an independant company, limited by guarantee that works closeley with the AONB team. The members of the group are a team of passionate volunteers who build, repair and restore dry stone walls in the AONB. Their aim is to work on walling projects that will benefit conservation, public access, education, local or community amenity.

If you are interested in trying dry stone walling or have experience and would like to go walling in Nidderdale please contact Emma Walker-Palin on 01423 715994.
